Kings XI Punjab have done very well so far – won two and lost one. They can’t blame themselves for losing one match, as that was mainly because they came across an Andre Russell at his very best.
As we all know, there’s not a single bowling attack in the world that can stop Andre when he gets going. He is today the most destructive batsman in the world. And yes, he bowls fast and get into any team based on his fast bowling alone. What a player!
But we digress. This match preview is about Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals, like their opponents, have won two and lost one. Their last win came through a super over where Kagiso Rabada showed just why he is as good as Jaspreet Bumrah, considered to be the best bowler in the world.
Delhi Capitals also have two of the biggest sensations in Indian cricket today – Rishabh Pant and Prithwi Shaw. They are both capable of winning any match on their own.
R. Ashwin will need to use all his wits – and he is the smartest cricketer in the world – to keep the two young men quiet. If he can do that, Kings XI will have a chance.
And yes, there is Shikhar Dhawan in that team too – surprising that nobody seems to be talking about him. Dhawan has a very good record in the IPL.
As for Kings XI, they have Chris Gayle – the Universe Boss – supported by two very good Indian players – KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. They will be hoping for a good start from them.
